EXEGESIS

This page has been created for the owner to provide readers with information on different Anthropological backgrounds and races around the world that has been linked to her ‘Anthropology is the most humanistic of the sciences and the most scientific of the humanities’ (Kroeber, n.d.).  The readers can get easy access to different information on which will be a new entry each time for a different post.  The central node of the page is the blogging page itself and the contributing nodes are all linked to the central node.  The owner of the page does not have any software programming skills and does not need to because they are not required, when creating a web presence on the web.  ‘A blog in many ways a continuing conversation’ (Sullivan, n.d.).

The central node of which is Blogger.com will primarily be the blogging page that will accommodate and have inputs from the contributing nodes which are youtube.com, Facebook and twitter.  The theme selected for the Blog, is a free theme I downloaded of the web. The theme was selected for its earthy and nude colour scheme that complements the site content.  The theme included a simple drawing of plant life that gave a feel of tree’s growing from the earth which went with my blog Title ‘Faces on Earth’. The feel of the blog is to make the readers be at peace and calm when reading the information of the site, hence no bright shocking font colours were chosen.

The selection of the tools in the web 2.0 for the contributing nodes all are clearly linked to the page owner. The site does not allow anonymity this is to identify the source of the information or content. The web page allows other bloggers/ readers to leave comments but still in which the page owner can justify unwanted comments.  The site also allows the readers the access of the web presence about page, Blogging anonymously still can be traced from the IPaddress (Bailey, 2011). The about pages are basically what and why the blog was created and personal information about the owner example, name, age and photograph.

The photographs from the site are gotten from different webpages in the internet all which is references at the end of a blog post. The images selected were used to enhance the viewer’s view and understanding on what an entry was about. This is also so the readers can get a clearer view of the topic chosen.  Related Videos of blog entry was also used by the page owner. The videos were obtained from different channels on one of the contributing nodes which was youtube.com.

One of the three contributing nodes on the page is youtube.com the readers can click the video’s in the video bar on the right on the screen of the site to get instant access to different related videos on the subject matter. The video bar icon works as a hub for Youtube.com for the readers to get direct access to a video they have chosen, this additional node also allows the users to view the video without them opening a new tab or leaving the blog site this makes it easier for all the readers when navigating through the blog.

Another contributing node is Facebook .com, aside from easy access to Facebook, the readers are allowed to send and share the page with other friends on Facebook. The side bar of widgets allows this in a push of a button the readers can access their Facebook page and link up the blog however they wish to. The last contributing node or widget rather is twitter the tweet icon allows the users to tweet the page on their twitter account, the tweet button not only allows blogger on blogger.com to tweet the page but also to other readers reading in on the web presence postings.
These contributing nodes reflect the theme of the web presence creation because the posts need a lot of video and images to show the different races.  The nodes help enhance the understanding of each entry. In terms of central node, Blogger.com as a central node is a good platform for blogging because it is easy to access and the functions given are easy to understand and use.  By creating a central node the contributing nodes will all be in a hub this will centralise the widgets and utilise usage of the central node.
